CNP ADVANCED CAMP
This year saw St. Peregrines GAA club run a very successful GAA Advanced Skills Camp. The camp was ran by a host of the best Coaches and Players from around the country that the GAA has to offer.
The camp was open to boys and girls aged 13-17 years of age with the aim of developing and practicing new skills while having fun.
Day 1 saw top inter-county players Rory Beggan (Monaghan), Shane McEntee (Meath), Eric Lowndes (Dublin), Dessie Ward (Monaghan), Vikki Wall (Meath), Carla Rowe (Dublin) & Geraldine McLaughlin (Donegal) showcase their knowledge to our camp particpants.
Day 2 we welcomed Liam Swift (Ulster goalkeeping coach), James McCartan (Down), Mickey Donnelly (Tyrone), Mickey Quinn (Longford), Emmett Bradley (Derry), Kate Mulvey (Dublin) & Rachel Brennan (Dublin)
Day 3 we finished in style with Colm Lavin (Roscommon), Dermot Sheridan (Cavan), Conor Mackin (Armagh), Emmett Bradley (Derry), Ciaran McKeever (Armagh), Diarmuid Murtagh (Roscommon) & Aimee Mackin (Armagh)
Supporting our camp and in attendance were Michael Gerard Ó Dochartaigh author of Live Learn Love Gaelic Games & Philip Kerr author of Developing Gaelic Footballers, Games to Challenge Your Coaching.
The camp was successfully organised by our new Director of Football and First team coach Joe McBrearty. Without the help of Joe and our other Club volunteers the camp would not have ran as well as it did.
The camp was supported by our main sponsor Westend Retail Park and their continued support is very much appreciated. Thank you also to TopBun who provided meals for our coaches. Each player was provided with a unique jersey provided by O Reilly Sports. Revive Active, Huel, & K&K also provided our coaches and volunteers with their delicious supplements and fruit.
At the end of our Advanced Skills Camp we gave back to the players who supported the event. A raffle was held for all participants and the lucky winners came away with 3 x €50 Elverys Sport Vouchers, Spot prizes from 1884 Sports, O Reilly Sports & Gloves which were donated by Rory Beggan and Colm Lavin themselves.
The Advanced Skills Camp proved to be very successful and we look forward to welcoming you all back next year.
